Originally captured with the ocean in its natural state, the work was ultimately exhibited inverted after several viewers questioned its orientation — a doubt that became integral to the piece itself. In reversal, gravity loosens. Water becomes sky; surface becomes depth. The image unsettles perceptual hierarchies, dissolving distinctions between above and below.

Without a prescribed top or bottom, its orientation remains open to the acquirer — determined not by convention, but by perception.
