I often take hundreds of wave pictures before potentially succeeding to capture a very special one. For this image I chose to use my Color Eyes methodology where I experiment with unexpected colors and exaggerate them with the intent of challenging our perception of natural beauty. Waves can be a stunning representation of energy and impermanence. Here the face of the wave could be a sign of the calm before the energy of the crash is released. Maybe it can also be interpreted as a metaphor for life – mounting pressure, reaching a crest, and letting go.
